Some people want to live their best lives. When you know you could go at any minute, it’s time to tie up those loose ends, and that includes doing anything you want to do that you haven’t done yet. Who knows what’s waiting for you in the afterlife? If you’ve always wanted to visit Maine, you might not get a chance to after you died. Or you might. Who knows? Maybe heaven is actually located in Maine? It’s anyone’s guess as to what happens when you’re gone. Just in case, though, it’s probably better to scratch those items off of your bucket list just so you can say you’ve done them.

One woman had a very unusual bucket list item, and she actually got to complete it. But it took a little bit of help for her to scratch off the bucket item list. And it was help that she got…

93-year-old Manchester woman Josie Birds was very good all of her life. She never got into any trouble.

So now that she’s getting up in the years, she wanted to complete her dying wish. The woman who had been well-behaved all of her life wanted to get arrested.

No, she wasn’t going to go out and commit a bunch of crimes to make sure her dying wish was fulfilled. it came true in a very different way.

It's Never Too Late

Josie’s granddaughter thanked the police on Twitter for helping her grandmother fulfill her dying wish.

“A big thank you to @gmpolice for “arresting” my Gran Josie today,” Pam tweeted. “She is 93 years old and her health is failing, and she wanted to be arrested for something before it’s too late. She has a heart of gold and thoroughly enjoyed it today. Thank you for granting her wishes.”

She posted photos of her grandmother smiling during the experience.

The Full Experience

The police officers responded to Josie’s granddaughter’s Tweet. They were even good sports on social media.

“I’m glad our officers could help out,” a representative from the police force replied. “Looks like she got the full experience! Give our best to Josie and I’ll try and pass your message back to the officers who kindly helped out.”

It seems like it was all in good fun, and Josie got to have an experience she otherwise wouldn’t have gotten.

You Only Live Once

The Tweets about Josie’s arrest went viral. Even her neighbors were curious about what was happening.

“They were all out with their phones lol! She’s well-known locally and has never put a foot wrong all her life. She is quite poorly now and wanted to do something ‘naughty’ while she still has the strength to enjoy it. This has definitely put a bit smile on her face!” wrote Josie’s granddaughter on Twitter.

You only live once, right?

Bucket List

But Josie’s unusual bucket list item isn’t the only thing that people can cross of their list.

Bucketlist.org has whole list of suggestions of things people can do before they pass on. And these goals are a lot more mainstream.

If you have to go, you might as well go knowing that you had a full life. Why would you spend all of the time you have on this Earth sitting on the couch? That’s not fun.

Go Bungee Jumping

Bungee jumping is super scary, but if you’re going to go, you might as well go doing something on you bucket list, right?

Bungee jumping is a pretty thrilling activity, and it can really get the adrenaline going.

It’s not for the faint of heart, but you know that you’ll have lived your life if you go bungee jumping. You’ll stare in the face of death, and then, when the day finally comes, you’ll be ready for it.

Visit The Pyramids Of Giza

If you’re going to put something on your bucket list, it might as well involve some travel, right?

What’s the point of making a bucket list if it doesn’t involve going anywhere? Why not try traveling all the way to Egypt to take a look at the pyramids?

You’ll be able to see how the pharos were buried and maybe get some ideas for when that day finally comes for you. Go big or go home, right?

Walk Along The Great Wall Of China

The Great Wall of China is pretty cool, and it’s something that you shouldn’t miss.

At the end of your life, do you want to tell people that you once set foot on the Great Wall of China?

It’s a great wall (which is where the name comes from), and it might take you your whole life to walk across it, so stepping foot on just a part of it should be fine. Otherwise, your bucket list would have one item.

See The Northern Lights

Your bucket list will get a lot more colorful with the addition of this item.

You don’t want to miss one of the beautiful sights in the world. It looks incredible in photos, but it looks better when you see it with your own eyes.

You can take some photos to show your grandkids, but the photos aren’t going to do it justice. You just have to travel to the ends of the world and see it for yourself.

Run A Marathon

A bucket list isn’t just about traveling the world and seeing pretty things. It’s about having accomplishments.

And sometimes those accomplishments take the form of physical exercise. You can have your friends and family cheer you on, knowing that you’re racing for the finish line of the race and the finish line of your bucket list.

You know you’re putting a pretty good item on your bucket list when you’re getting all sweaty. And there’s orange slices.

Learn To Play An Instrument

You might as well develop a new skill when you’re working on your bucket list.

Who doesn’t want to learn how to play a musical instrument before they die? It’s never too late to start learning.

You don’t have to have the nimble fingers of a small child to learn how to play the guitar. Even if you’re knocking at death’s door, you can always learn a few chords and serenade Death when he comes for you.

Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro isn’t something that everyone can say they did. But if you put it on your bucket list and do it, you’ll be able to say you did.

And you’ll be able to sound super cool when you go to parties. Seriously, how good does, “I went to Mt. Kilimanjaro. Crossed it off the old bucket list” sound?

It sounds really good, that’s how good it sounds. Don’t you want that to be you, too?

Snorkle In The Great Barrier Reef

When you’re putting together a bucket list, you have to make sure that you explore both the sea and the land.

What’s the point of just exploring the land? There’s a whole ocean that has a lot to offer. You don’t want to miss it.

Do you really want to be that person who sits on their death bed saying, “I’ve been to every continent on this Earth, but I’ve never been in the ocean. If only…”?

Visit The Grand Canyon

Some people think that the Grand Canyon is just a giant hole in the ground, but it’s so much more than that.

It’s a giant hole that you can hike in. You probably won’t be able to cover the whole Grand Canyon before you die, but you might as well try.

The Grand Canyon is very beautiful and has a lot to offer, so you might as well go. It’s in the U.S. You don’t even have to get a passport.

See An Active Volcano

Staring in an active volcano might be the last thing you ever do, but why the heck not?

You can die as you lived – spectacularly. Everyone will know that you’re a really adventurous person, and that’s how they’ll remember you, even if you were an accountant.

Plus, you’ll know what a volcano looks like when it’s going off. Even for just a moment. You won’t be able to tell anyone, but at least you will know.
