This Bride Ditched Her Wedding Bouquet For Something Much Tastier
A traditional wedding bouquet is an important part of the wedding tradition. You’re supposed to throw your bouquet to all of the single women who are attending your wedding, and whoever catches the bouquet will be the next person to get married. And if you don’t catch the bouquet, then you’re SOL, and you might as well just pack up and give up on love. That’s why it’s super important that you do anything in your power to catch that bouquet. Even if you have to draw blood. You go after that thing as if your life depends upon it, because it does.
Even though the bouquet is such a crucial part of getting married, because it determines the fate of the people attending your wedding, you can still have fun with it and go outside the box. One bride decided to do just that and the results were very, well, sweet.
Donuts Make The World Go Round
Donuts are our favorite food group. We wish we could eat them for every meal.
And now, you kind of can, thanks to Dessert Boxes, which lets you send donuts in the mail, because living in the 21st century is perfect.
We’re not going to judge anyone who sends a box of donuts to themselves, because we would do it too. In fact, we may or may be doing it right now. Spoiler alert: We totally are.
It Gets Personal
You can also personalize the donut boxes if you want to send one to a friend.
Because you can personalize them, it means that they’re appropriate for any occasion. You can send them to someone on their birthday, and let them know you care in the most meaningful way possible.
You can let someone know that you care about them with the greatest gift of all, a box of deep-fried sugar and flour and just plain yumminess.
Oh Donut Tree
Dessert Boxes also lets you send a meaningful and edible holiday decoration to whoever you want.
We are going to start this as a new tradition right now. We want to see donut trees start cropping up instead of Christmas trees.
Because you end up throwing your Christmas tree out anyways. Wouldn’t it be better to just be able to eat your Christmas tree instead? It makes everything so much easier the day after Christmas is over.
Say It With Flowers
Dessert Boxes also lets you send something so much more meaningful than a box flowers – a box of donuts arranged in a flower bouquet.
There are some things that you just can’t say with flowers, so you need to let donuts speak those words instead.
You can tell someone that you love them, but getting them a box of donuts shows them that you love them. You really mean it when your words are backed up with sugar.
One bride took the whole donut bouquet to the next level and decided to carry one when she walked down the aisle.
“That time we convinced a bride to walk down the aisle with a donut bouquet,” wrote Dessert Boxes on their Instagram.
They probably didn’t have to twist her arm to do it. This seems like a great idea, and we’re surprised that more brides aren’t doing it! We smell a new wedding trend coming on!
We’re wondering if she ended up throwing the bouquet to all the single women during the wedding reception?
Or did she end up eating it instead? Because we probably would have ate it. There’s no way that we’d throw something as delicious looking as this!
Sorry to all our single friends, but you can’t blame us for wanting to be selfish when it comes to donuts. It’s like the one thing that’s totally okay to never want to share.
That's What Friends Are For
The bride wasn’t the only person during her wedding to carry a bouquet made of delicious donuts.
She also got her bridesmaids to carry donut bouquets during the wedding. It’s great, because if you get hungry during the ceremony, you have a tasty snack right in front of you.
You just have to sneak it to make sure nobody seas you, because otherwise they’ll get jealous that they don’t have donuts in front of them to snack on!
Say Yes To The Donut
Weddings are already sweet. Now we know how much sweeter they can get, thanks to this (literally) outside the box idea!
There are so many good reasons to head to the alter, even if you’re not planning on getting married any time soon.
We want to start planning a wedding just so we have an excuse to eat donuts. If you are planning on getting hitched soon, there are so many other creative wedding ideas you can explore, and no, they don’t involve eating calories…
But donuts instead of flowers aren’t the only way brides are switching things up on their wedding days.
There are other ways that women are switching things up, and honestly, they’re making us question why we don’t do these unconventional ideas more often.
Actress Audrey Moore recently went viral for her unique wedding idea. Moore decided to invite her friends to wear their wedding dresses to her wedding. Because why should you have to wear it only once?
The White Stuff
Moore wore an ice blue dress, but was surrounded by her friends who were all clad in white.
“We thought it was sad that most women only get to wear their wedding dress once, so we invited all the women coming to our non-traditional wedding to wear their old wedding dresses again!” her husband Jesse Lumen wrote on Reddit.
We love this idea, and can get behind any excuse to get the old wedding dress out of the mothballs!
“We really wanted our wedding to really represent ourselves, our sense of humor, our creativity, and also not just celebrate ourselves but marriage in general as a choice,” said Moore.
All of the groomsmen also wore tuxedo hoodies, which was a fun touch to the unconventional wedding.
“I’ve been to all of their weddings and I saw them all in their beautiful dresses. I wanted them to have the opportunity to wear their really magical, beautiful dress a second time,” said Moore.
Last One Standing
Moore made sure that nobody was left out, even if they hadn’t been married before.
“I’m the last one to be married in my group of friends. I was pretty much the last girl standing,” said Moore.
She noted that some guests “wore their mother’s wedding dress or put on a costume.” We love this! It combines Halloween and a wedding in one event! There’s nothing better than a good excuse to play dress up. We need more~
Another bride decided to switch up what people normally do during their bachelorette parties before the wedding.
Instead of hiring a stripper or going clubbing and getting wild, the bridal party opted to draw a nude art model instead.
Syreeta Harvey and her friends had a two hour sketching session before she got married in Philadelphia. It’s such a creative way to celebrate your wedding – in more ways than one! We hope it wasn’t cold in there.
Nine women attended the sketching session at a company called Fig Leaves. Wow, we just got that!
“I want all of you to try to draw Steve using shapes only,” said Rachel Shaw, the owner of Fig Leaves.
“You have three minutes. Go!” We wonder how accurate the drawings are, or if the members of the bridal party used their creative imagination. You know what, we though about it, and never mind. It was kind of a bad idea to wonder.
The idea to have a sketching party was thought of by her younger sister Rashawn.
“When I was planning Syreeta’s bachelorette party, I asked her if she wanted something mellow or wild,” Rashawna said of the party plans.
“And she said she wanted something in the middle, so here we are.” What a fun idea! It’s classier than a strip club, but you still get to feel like you’re doing something that’s, well, definitely less than classy.
